Maiko Dinner (Group)

We offer a 2-hour candid traditional Japanese kaiseki dinner experience in a close company of a maiko (apprentice geisha) or geiko (geisha). Reservations are required as the dates and starting times are fixed. It is possible to reserve a last-minute seat until 4 PM each day.
Our service combines all aspects of the traditional Japanese entertainment and our guests can get an accurate insight into the real culture of Kyoto. The maiko and geiko are unofficial ambassadresses of everything Japanese. Here at our venues, you can enjoy not only their classical dance performances tailored with a coherent explanation of their culture but also a close interaction and conversation with them. Moreover, we provide a kaiseki dinner course along with an all-you-can-drink option (sake, beer, and soft drinks). The meals are supplied by Oryori Iden, a renowned restaurant with a century-long history. Our drinks are produced by carefully selected local ingredients.
Please kindly consider that this maiko and geiko dinner experience is shared with other guests. A description of a private dinner is HERE.

    Location Booking

Please select a convenient location at the bottom of this page and click "Book now" button to reserve a seat. Please come to the venue on the reserved date (no pick-up service). We recommend to arrive in advance, as we have a first-come-first-served seat policy.

  2.

    Dinner - Japanese Kaiseki course.

You will enjoy the first set of the kaiseki cuisine and drinks before the maiko's arrival. An all-you-can-drink is included in the price. The menu is seasonal. For details, please see the articles in our news section.

  3.

    Mesmerizing Time with Maiko

Now, the maiko or geiko enters the room. Please enjoy not only a graceful dance and a detailed explanation of the culture, but also an interactive time with maiko. This part includes a self-introduction of the maiko, traditional games, and Q&A. At the end, there is a special dance performance in a candlelight. Additionally, if the time allows, the maiko may also talk with you individually at your table. She doesn't speak English but you can ask her anything with the help of our certified interpreter

  4.

    A Commemorative Photoshoot

Our guests can take a commemorative photo with maiko and get a collectible souvenir from her. Please be assured that you can still enjoy the rest of your dinner and drinks even after the maiko's departure.
